Associate Consultant

 

 
 

Job Description

The Associate Consultant position is an entry-level offering for less experienced candidates aspiring to become Implementation Consultants. Click here for more information on the Implementation Consultant position.

Associate Consultants participate in all phases of the implementation of the PeopleSoft pension administration module. These phases range from gathering requirements and performing fit/gap analysis to setting up plan parameters and testing the calculation and administration system. Associate consultants will always work in a team setting with other experienced consultants. Project tasks are explained and work is fostered through a mentor-type relationship.

Since PensionSmart, Inc. provides on site delivery, Associate Consultants have the opportunity to interact with clients on a daily basis. Consulting skills will be developed through the client relationships and through the training and advice of the senior consultants. On-site delivery allows our Implementation Consultants to develop their consulting skills while increasing their value toward the Implementation Consultant role.


Job Requirements

A concentration in actuarial science or substantial exposure to administration of defined benefit pension plans. Experience with design, development or implementation of calculation software is required. Ideal candidate would have exposure to the technical aspects benefit calculation software and functional experience with Defined Benefits administration.

Strong analytical, communication, and technical aptitudes are critical. Being groomed for the Implementation Consultant position, Associate Consultants should possess strong communication skills, be comfortable dealing with and in front of clients on a daily basis. Valuable technical skills include SQL, COBOL, and PeopleTools or similar object-based application development tools.

A college degree in a related discipline such as mathematics, or computer science is also required. Previous experience with actuarial exams is beneficial.

Associate Consultants must be able to travel 100% of the time. PensionSmart, Inc. has developed a competitive advantage by providing on site delivery and is committed to maintaining this quality of service to its clients.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
